| Obverse description | The central field displays the coat of arms of the Togolese Republic, featuring two rampant lions as supporters, each grasping a spear, flanking a shield bearing the monogram 'RT' on a hexagonal device. Above the shield, two crossed national flags are depicted on staffs, with scrolls inscribed 'TRAVAIL', 'LIBERTE', and 'PATRIE' (Labour, Liberty, Homeland). The legend 'REPUBLIQUE TOGOLAISE' arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin lettering, while the denomination '100 FRANCS CFA' is inscribed along the lower periphery. The entire design is framed by a beaded inner border. |

| Reverse description | The reverse presents a right-facing portrait bust of Pope Benedict XVI wearing a zucchetto and papal vestments, positioned to the right of the field. To the left, a detailed architectural rendering depicts the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church (Gedächtniskirche) in Berlin, showing its ruined neo-Romanesque tower alongside the modern octagonal chapel tower, commemorating the pontiff's 2011 apostolic journey to Germany. The circumferential legend 'LE VOYAGE DU PAPE BENOÎT XVI · BERLIN 2011 ·' encircles the design in raised Latin lettering against a dark polished field. |

Togo's authority to issue CFA-denominated coins is nominal at best — the country uses the West African CFA franc managed by the BCEAO, but has long licensed its name to private minting operations producing coins with no practical circulation. This piece is a product of that trade, almost certainly struck by a European private mint for the collector market rather than by any Togolese monetary authority.
Benedict XVI resigned the papacy in February 2013, the first pope to do so since Gregory XII in 1415.
