| 背面描述 | The large denomination numeral '100' dominates the central field, rendered in bold figures filled with intricate geometric and spiral filigree patterns typical of African decorative art. The date '1965' appears in the upper field above the numeral, and the word 'FRANCS' is inscribed in the lower field beneath it, with 'ESSAI' (trial) in smaller lettering below 'FRANCS'. The entire design is framed by an ornate border of alternating chevron and rope motifs punctuated by eight equally spaced T-shaped ornaments. |

The Banque Centrale des États de l'Afrique Équatoriale et du Cameroun was itself a transitional institution, managing currency for a franc zone bloc that included Chad, Central African Republic, Congo-Brazzaville, Gabon, and Cameroon during the post-independence consolidation of the early 1960s. Piedfort essais of this period were produced almost exclusively for presentation and archival purposes — French monetary officials and newly independent governments both maintained sets as proof of authorized design approval.
The bank was dissolved and replaced by the BEAC in 1972.
