The KM#283 cataloging and the "Bimetallic and Steel Face" designation in the name are worth noting: this is a .9999 fine silver round issued under the legal fiction of a 100 Francs CFA denomination, a currency whose monetary policy is controlled not by Brazzaville but by the Banque des États de l'Afrique Centrale in Paris.
