| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Benin occupies the central field, depicting a shield quartered with a castle tower and a star in the upper quarters, and a palm tree and a sailing ship in the lower quarters, supported on either side by leopards rampant. Below the shield, a ribbon bears the national motto in the legend 'FRATERNITE JUSTICE TRAVAIL'. The country name 'REPUBLIQUE DU BENIN' arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination '100 FRANCS CFA' is inscribed in two lines in the lower field. |
