Obverse description Three giant elands (Taurotragus derbianus) depicted in left-facing profile, arranged in a staggered composition emerging from stylized savanna grasses in the lower field. The animals are rendered with fine engraving detail, highlighting their distinctive twisted horns and textured hides. The curved legend EMPIRE CENTRAFRICAIN arcs along the left and upper periphery. The engravers' signatures G.B.L.BAZOR appear to the right of the central motif, with the mint mark CR positioned at the base of the grass.
