Obverse description The obverse displays an elaborate Arabesque and interlaced geometric ornamental design filling the central field, rendered in the Art Nouveau style characteristic of French colonial coinage of the period. A central medallion bears the denomination '100 FRANCS' in bold upright numerals and lettering, with the Gregorian date '1930' below, flanked by small mint marks. The word 'ESSAI' appears in the lower portion of the central medallion, confirming the trial strike status. The country name 'TUNISIE' arches prominently along the upper border within a decorated inner ring. The entire design is framed by a milled denticular border.
