| Reverse description | The denomination '100 FRANCS' occupies the central field in large, bold raised lettering within a plain inner circle, with the Gregorian date '1935' inscribed below and the word 'ESSAI' (trial) appearing in small letters to the right of '100'. The country name 'TUNISIE' arcs along the upper periphery in large raised Latin capitals. The broad border zone between the inner circle and the beaded outer rim is filled with an elaborate interlaced arabesque pattern of flowing, symmetrical scrollwork characteristic of North African decorative art. A small engraver's privy mark or mint mark appears at the base of the central device. The overall design was engraved by Lucien Georges Bazor at the Monnaie de Paris. |
