Obverse description Central field features a rounded rectangular cartouche bearing three lines of Arabic legend identifying the ruler Ahmad Pasha Muddat Bey of Tunisia and the Islamic Hijri year, rendered in an elegant calligraphic style. Flanking the cartouche on either side are detailed sprigs of wheat and olive, symbols of Tunisian agriculture, rendered in high relief. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner border, with a plain raised rim completing the composition. The overall layout follows a traditional Ottoman-Tunisian decorative aesthetic, devoid of a portrait effigy.
