| Opmerkingen |
The 8th series was the SNB's most security-conscious issue up to that point, developed partly in response to advances in desktop publishing and colour photocopying during the late 1980s. Zintzmeyer's designs for the full series are among the more conceptually coherent in Swiss banknote history, each note built around a single cultural figure rather than the landscape-and-institution vocabulary common elsewhere in Europe.
The signature combinations make date attribution unusually precise — 29 documented pairings across an 18-year print run. Phillipp Hildebrand's name appears from 2004 onward, years before his SNB chairmanship and the franc crisis of 2011.
