| Obverse description | Printed in brown and buff tones, the obverse is divided into a left stub panel and the main note body separated by a vertical guilloche border bearing the issuer's name. The main field carries two oval intaglio vignettes — an allegorical female figure to the left and a second allegorical figure to the right — framing the large serif denomination "CENT FRANCS" at centre. Ornate floral and scrollwork corner pieces surround the design, with "Série B" and the denomination numeral 100 repeated in the upper and lower corners, and the emission date "1er Août 1871" cartouche at bottom centre. |
