| Obverse description | The obverse features a bold, stylized decorative design enclosed within a rectangular frame set against a circular field. The text MAGYAR NÉPKÖZTÁRSASÁG (Hungarian People's Republic) is rendered in an ornamental, folk-art-inspired lettering arranged along the left and lower portions of the frame. The denomination 100 FORINT is prominently displayed in large decorative numerals and letters at the center-right of the frame, with the digits of '100' incorporating whimsical smiley-face motifs. The date is split across both sides of the frame, reading '19' at the left and '85' at the right. The mint mark 'BP' appears in an oval cartouche at the top of the field, and the engraver's initials 'FZ' are found in a small cartouche at the bottom. |
