Obverse description The design is divided into four quadrants by a bold cross pattern alternating polished and matte fields. The small Hungarian state coat of arms appears in the upper left quadrant, with the legend 'Magyar Népköztársaság' (Hungarian People's Republic) occupying the upper right quadrant. The denomination '100 Forint' is inscribed prominently across the lower left quadrant, while the mint mark 'BP.' and date '1974' appear in the lower right quadrant. The contrasting finishes between the quadrants create a striking geometric effect characteristic of Hungarian commemorative coinage of this period.
