Obverse description Portrait of Lajos Kossuth in an intaglio-engraved oval vignette at right, facing three-quarters left, with his name inscribed below the portrait. At centre, the Hungarian People's Republic arms — comprising a red star, hammer, and wheat sheaf — flanked by decorative foliage, with the issuer name MAGYAR NEMZETI BANK and date of issue below. A large guilloche medallion at left carries the numeral 100 over the word FORINT on a lathe-work underprint. The denomination 100 SZÁZ 100 appears in the lower border panel.
