| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare-headed effigy of King Faisal II facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed wavy hair. The portrait depicts the young monarch with a naturalistic, youthful appearance characteristic of his early reign. The Arabic royal legend is inscribed in two curved lines flanking the effigy, divided to the left and right of the bust. The field is smooth and unadorned, allowing the portrait to dominate the design. A fine dentilated border runs along the entire coin rim. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The central design features a circular cartouche bearing the denomination '100' in Eastern Arabic-Indic numerals above the word 'فلس' (Fils), all enclosed within a raised circular border. Four ornate radiating panels extend from the central circle to the rim, dividing the field into quadrants and creating a stylized cross-like composition. The Gregorian year 1953 appears in Western numerals to the left and the Hijri year 1372 in Eastern Arabic-Indic numerals to the right within horizontal bands. The Arabic legend 'المملكة العراقية' (Kingdom of Iraq) is distributed in the upper and lower fields. A dentilated border frames the entire reverse design. |

The 1952 issue falls within the final years of Faisal II's nominal reign — he was still a minor, with the kingdom effectively governed by a regency until 1953. That same year, Iraq renegotiated its oil revenue split with the Iraq Petroleum Company, shifting from a flat royalty to a fifty-fifty profit-sharing arrangement under intense nationalist pressure. Coin production in this period was contracted to the British Royal Mint, as Iraq had no domestic striking facility.
This was among the last silver issues before Iraq transitioned to cupro-nickel coinage in subsequent years.
