Reverse description The reverse presents a two-part architectural composition: the baroque Augustusburg Palace occupying the upper register and Falkenlust Palace positioned in the lower register, both rendered in fine relief. Between the two structures, a detailed interior vignette highlights the celebrated ceremonial staircase of Augustusburg Palace, designed by Balthasar Neumann and constructed between 1743 and 1748 in the Rococo style. The surrounding legend identifies the UNESCO World Heritage Site by name, with a centered dot serving as a decorative separator. The overall composition celebrates the Schlösser Augustusburg und Falkenlust near Brühl, North Rhine-Westphalia, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1984.
