| Additional information |
Issued to mark the 450th anniversary of the execution of Maximilián of Habsburg, who was crowned King of Hungary in 1563 in Bratislava — a ceremony that took place in St. Martin's Cathedral, making the Slovak capital one of the primary royal coronation sites of the Hungarian kingdom during the Ottoman occupation of Buda. The coin belongs to a long-running NBS gold program documenting figures central to Slovak and broader Central European history.
Mintage for this issue was capped at 4,000 pieces.
