| Obverse description | The obverse features a dynamic depiction of an imperial dragon emerging through billowing clouds in the field, symbolizing the Son of Heaven. In the foreground, the emperor is rendered in an elaborate, stylized composition evoking the artistic traditions of the Qianlong imperial court. | Reverse description | The reverse is modelled after a gilded medallion from the Qianlong period (1736–1795), held in the collection of the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) in Vienna. At the center, an imperial five-clawed dragon is depicted in high relief, coiling dynamically amid stylized clouds rendered in the refined aesthetic of 18th-century Qing dynasty decorative art. The five-clawed dragon, exclusive to the emperor, is rendered with meticulous attention to the original artifact, conveying imperial authority and celestial power. The overall design faithfully reproduces the ornamental vocabulary of the Qianlong court in a numismatic format. |
