Reverse description The reverse depicts a detailed architectural rendering of the Carolingian Torhalle (gatehouse) of Lorsch Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, shown in three-quarter frontal elevation with its distinctive Lombard-Romanesque blind arcading and tower. The structure is surrounded on all sides by lines of medieval Latin manuscript text, evoking the abbey's historical scriptorium and scholarly tradition. The legend UNESCO WELTERBE arcs across the upper field, while KLOSTER is inscribed along the lower rim. The word LORSCH appears vertically along the right side and UNESCO along the left side, flanking the central architectural motif. The mint master's initials CH appear below the gatehouse.
