| 背面描述 | Cartographic representation of the Island of Susak and the adjacent Cape Darto depicted in relief against the coin field, capturing the characteristic elongated shape and topographical features of the island. A small chapel is shown at a prominent location on the island's terrain, referencing a local architectural landmark. The design evokes the geographic and cultural identity of this small Croatian island in the Kvarner Gulf. The inscription OTOK SUSAK appears in the field along with the date 2024., all in raised Latin lettering. |

Susak is a Croatian island in the Kvarner Gulf unusual enough to have warranted dedicated linguistic study — its inhabitants spoke a distinct archaic dialect of Croatian so isolated that researchers were still documenting it actively in the late twentieth century. The island sits atop a thick layer of sand rather than the limestone karst that defines virtually every other Adriatic island, a geological anomaly that shaped both its agriculture and its identity.
The Croatian National Bank's island series has run for years, methodically working through the country's more distinctive geographic features. Susak's inclusion follows that pattern.
