| Obverse description | The obverse field is divided into two distinct zones. The left half bears the denomination and issuer legends in clean, modern typography: the date '2018' and country name 'Slovenija' appear in the upper portion, with the large numeral '100' and the word 'euro' below. The right half is filled with an artistically rendered lattice of small cross motifs that gradually condense and blur toward the right edge, symbolising the countless victims of the First World War. The restrained, contemporary design leaves the polished field visible in the left zone, creating a striking contrast with the textured cross pattern. |

Slovenia's commemoration of the WWI centenary carries an irony worth noting: the war's end in 1918 dissolved the Austro-Hungarian Empire and set in motion the creation of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes — the state from which Slovenia would not fully separate until 1991. A Slovenian central bank marking Armistice Day is, in a narrow sense, commemorating the precondition of its own eventual existence.
