Aanvullende informatie

Dražen Petrović died in a car accident in Germany in June 1993 at 28, just as his NBA career with the New Jersey Nets was establishing him as one of the genuine European talents to crack the American game. Croatia was still less than two years removed from international recognition as an independent state, and Petrović had been central to its first Olympic basketball squad, which took silver at Barcelona in 1992 — competing while the war at home was ongoing. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002.
