100 Escudos Raso Lark, Brass ring

正面描述	The national coat of arms of Cape Verde is centrally displayed within the copper-nickel disc, featuring a triangle enclosing a torch and the sea represented by horizontal lines, encircled by the legend REPÚBLICA DE CABO VERDE. The arms are flanked on either side by sprigs of vegetation extending into the brass ring. The numeral '100' appears prominently in the upper field of the brass ring, with the date divided '19 94' on either side of the arms at mid-height, and the denomination legend 'ESCUDOS' inscribed along the lower arc of the ring. Ten five-pointed stars are arranged in a semicircle in the upper portion of the brass ring.

附加信息	The Raso lark — endemic to the tiny uninhabited islet of Raso in the Barlavento group — had an estimated wild population of fewer than 250 individuals when this coin was issued, making it one of the most endangered birds on earth at the time. Cape Verde's decision to feature it on circulating currency was partly driven by international conservation pressure following surveys in the late 1980s that nearly recommended the species for extinction-level intervention.
