Obverse description Richly detailed armored bust of Sigismund III Vasa facing right, depicted in elaborate Renaissance plate armor with intricate engraving and a ruffled collar visible at the neck. The king's bearded profile is rendered with fine portraiture, conveying regal authority. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading SIGISMVNDVS III D G POLONIAE ET SVECIAE REX, identifying the monarch as King of Poland and Sweden by the grace of God. The field is fully occupied by the large portrait, characteristic of the monumental multiple-ducat presentation pieces struck at Bydgoszcz.

Reverse description Elaborate quartered royal coat of arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth surmounted by a large ornate royal crown, with decorative baroque cartouche and scrollwork supporters flanking the shield on either side. The quarters display the heraldic devices of Poland (White Eagle), Lithuania (Mounted Knight, Pogon), Sweden (Three Crowns and Lion), and the Vasa dynastic arms (Sheaf), with a central inescutcheon. A continuous Latin legend in the outer field reads MAGNVS DVX LITVAN RVSS PRVSS MAS SAM LIVON ZC, enumerating the king's titles as Grand Duke of Lithuania, Russia, Prussia, Masovia, Samogitia, and Livonia. The date 1621 appears within the legend. The overall composition is of exceptional artistic quality, befitting this monumental presentation piece.
