Obverse description The National Coat of Arms of Armenia occupies the central field, depicting a heraldic shield quartered with national symbols including Mount Ararat, supported by an eagle dexter and a lion sinister, with a sword and a chain in the supporters' paws and a ribbon below. The Armenian legend ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆԻ ՀԱՆՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ (Republic of Armenia) curves along the upper periphery in Armenian script. The denomination 100 ԴՐԱՄ (100 Dram) is inscribed in large numerals below the arms, with the date 1998 at the bottom of the field, flanked by two small floral ornaments serving as dividers.
