| 背面描述 | A detailed high-relief depiction of the Persian toadhead agama (Phrynocephalus helioscopus persikus) is shown in profile facing right, rendered with fine scalation detail amid sparse desert vegetation rendered in engraved outline. The Latin binomial legend Phrynocephalus helioscopus persikus arcs along the upper periphery in italic script. The Armenian name ԱՆԴՐԿՈՎԿԱՍՅԱՆ ՏԱԿԻՐՅԱՆ ԿՈՐԱԳԼՈՒԽ curves along the lower periphery in Armenian script. Two curved red lines, one above and one below the central design, serve as decorative separators between the inscriptions and the field, adding a coloured accent to the proof finish. |

Armenia's wildlife coin series, issued through the mid-2000s, was produced in partnership with foreign mints to support both conservation awareness and hard-currency export — the coins were never intended for domestic circulation and were sold almost exclusively through international numismatic distributors. The toad agama (Phrynocephalus helioscopus) is native to the arid lowlands of the Ararat Valley, one of the few regions of Armenia where the climate supports a genuinely desert-adapted fauna.
KM#178 is among the lower-mintage issues in the series.
