| Obverse description | The Armenian national coat of arms — a crowned eagle displayed bearing a shield charged with Mount Ararat and traditional emblems — occupies the central field, with the date 2008 inscribed above. Surrounding the central device is a broad annular band divided into twelve segments, each bearing one of the twelve astrological zodiac symbols in relief. The outer legend reads ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆԻ ՀԱՆՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ in Armenian script along the upper arc and REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA in Latin script along the lower arc. The denomination 100 DRAM / ԴՐԱՄ is inscribed in the lower portion of the inner field, flanking the coat of arms. The design is executed in proof finish with polished fields and frosted relief. |
