背面描述 Dark green on multicolour underprint. A central vignette reproduces an ancient coin with the head of Apollo; the denomination is repeated in large numerals at both sides within a guilloche-enriched border. The overall composition balances classical numismatic imagery with formal letterpress inscriptions.

备注

The 1928 Greek 100 Drachmai was issued under the currency stabilization program negotiated with the League of Nations — part of the same package that established the Bank of Greece as an independent central bank later that year, effectively ending the National Bank of Greece's monopoly on note issue. This note was printed before that transition completed, making it one of the final issues under the old institutional arrangement.

The American Bank Note Company contract reflected Greece's need for internationally credible, difficult-to-counterfeit paper after years of monetary instability following the Asia Minor catastrophe and the massive influx of refugees from Turkey in 1922-23.
