Obverse description Green and brown note with a central oval vignette containing the bank's heraldic coat of arms supported by two lions rampant, with the motto 'PARTES PER EQUAS' on a scroll below, set within an elaborate multicolour guilloche underprint of interlocking rosettes. Reverse description Printed entirely in green intaglio, the reverse centres on a detailed vignette of Victoria Harbour with a traditional junk under sail in the foreground, the Hong Kong waterfront skyline and mountainous Peak rising behind. A large oval guilloche watermark space occupies the left portion of the note, bordered by an ornate scalloped frame, while the right margin carries a vertical series of four circular medallions each enclosing allegorical vignettes. The bank title 'THE CHARTERED BANK' appears across the top in bold letterpress, with 'ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS' in a panel at the base and Chinese denomination characters 壹佰 at lower centre.
