Vermont has not issued its own currency since statehood in 1791. Any item cataloged under "State of Vermont" as issuer of a 2022 100 Dollar note on paper with hologram security is almost certainly a novelty, souvenir, or fantasy piece — not a legally issued instrument. No U.S. state has had monetary issuing authority since the National Currency Acts of the 1860s effectively ended state bank note circulation.
