Obverse description Central vignette is a portrait of President Ronald Reagan (1911–2004), accompanied by the official seal of Illinois and a stylized vignette of the Chicago skyline with its lakefront. A geographic outline of Illinois with the abbreviation IL appears alongside a Western horserider silhouette, the state motto 'State Sovereignty, National Union', and the year of statehood 1818; an eagle hologram is also present.
