Hutt River Province — the micronation carved out of a Western Australian wheat farm in 1970 by Leonard Casley after a dispute with the state government over wheat quotas — issued this piece as part of a broader campaign to establish numismatic credibility and generate revenue through collector sales. The Queen Mother's centenary was a convenient pretext; Casley had already styled himself Prince Leonard I and sought association with legitimate royalty wherever possible.
The X# prefix in the reference confirms its classification as a non-standard issue — cataloged by Krause but outside recognized sovereign coinage.
