Reverse description The reverse presents a richly detailed composition derived from the coat of arms of Queensland, centred on a large brolga (Australia's native crane) standing in right profile with wings partially spread. Behind the brolga, a Shorthorn bull is depicted in left profile, and in the lower left foreground a merino ram reclines amid sheaves of wheat, alluding to Queensland's pastoral industries. A shield bearing the denomination 100 DOLLARS is displayed to the upper left, charged with a gold miner's crossed pick and shovel, emblematic of Queensland's mining heritage. Stalks of wheat and sugar cane frame the composition on either side, while a ribbon scroll along the lower border carries the inscription QUEENSLAND. The engraver's monogram AB appears in the lower left field.
