Reverse description The reverse is structured as three arched vignettes across the central field: the old HSBC headquarters building occupies the central arch, an octagonal panel containing a dragon amid ornamental guilloche patterns fills the right arch, and a plain octagonal panel reserved for the watermark area appears under the left arch. The two HSBC guardian lions, Stephen and Stitt, are set at lower left and lower right flanking the denomination in Arabic numerals, with the full bank name in English running along the bottom margin. Four denomination indicators — two in Arabic numerals and two in Traditional Chinese characters (壹佰) — appear across the top of the design.
