Additional information

On 10 June 1942, SS units razed the Czech village of Lidice in reprisal for the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich — every man and boy over 15 was shot, women were sent to Ravensbrück, and children were gassed or dispersed to German families. Ležáky followed seventeen days later, its two dozen adults killed and the village dynamited. Both sites were then physically erased from maps.

The kilogram format places this among the heavier commemorative issues Tuvalu has produced through the Perth Mint partnership.
