| 表面の銘文 | ELIZABETH II BELIZE 1992 RDM |
| 裏面の説明 | The reverse depicts a dramatic action scene commemorating the Battle of El Alamein, showing three Allied infantrymen in full combat gear advancing across desert terrain; the central figure, rendered in high relief, lunges forward with a bayonet-fixed rifle, flanked by a second soldier to the left and a silhouetted enemy figure retreating to the right. Clouds of battle smoke fill the background field. The commemorative legend '50th ANNIVERSARY OF EL ALAMEIN' arcs along the upper periphery, the denomination '100 DOLLARS' appears in the lower exergue, and the commemorative dates '1942-1992' arc along the lower right, all in raised Latin lettering. |

Issued to mark the 500th anniversary of Columbus's 1492 landfall, Belize was one of several Caribbean and Central American nations that released commemorative gold in 1992 — a year that produced an unusual glut of such issues across the region. The "Infantry" designation refers to the British Army garrison historically stationed in Belize, maintained through the 1990s largely as a deterrent against Guatemalan territorial claims that dated to the colonial-era Guatemalan constitution of 1945.
Guatemala did not formally drop its claim to Belizean territory until 1991, just one year before this coin was struck.
