| Opmerkingen |
The Bermuda Monetary Authority was established in 1969, taking over currency functions from the Bermuda Government. This note marks the Authority's 25th anniversary — an unusual enough occasion to warrant a commemorative issue at the $100 denomination, which put it firmly out of everyday circulation from the start. Most were purchased by collectors rather than spent, and genuine circulated examples are correspondingly rare.
De La Rue's involvement with Bermuda's currency dates back decades before this issue, giving the series a consistency of print quality that distinguishes it from many small-territory issues of the same period.
