| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem, pearl drop earring, and pearl necklace, as designed by Jody Clark for the sixth definitive portrait of the Queen on Commonwealth coinage. The engraver's initials 'JC' appear on the truncation. The peripheral legend reads 'ELIZABETH II' at upper left and 'AUSTRALIA' at upper right, separated by raised dots, with the denomination '100 DOLLARS' inscribed along the lower rim, all in raised Latin lettering within a recessed inner border. |

The "Little Hero" belongs to Perth Mint's ongoing bullion program that periodically features native fauna, in this case targeting the collector-investor crossover market that has driven Australian gold bullion premiums steadily higher since the 1980s kangaroo series established the template. Perth's .9999 fineness has been a deliberate commercial differentiator against the South African Krugerrand's .9167 standard since Australia entered the sovereign bullion market.
Elizabeth II's sixth and final effigy — sculpted by Jody Clark — appeared on Australian coinage only briefly before her death in September 2022 made all such issues transitional by definition.
