Reverse description A boldly rendered rooster stands facing left in high relief at the centre of the coin, depicted crowing with its beak open and elaborate tail feathers fanning to the right. Sprigs of bamboo flank the bird on both sides, extending across the lower field to create a naturalistic setting. The traditional Chinese character '雞' (Rooster) appears in the upper left field. The curved inscription 'Year of the Rooster' runs along the lower rim in script lettering, and the Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark is visible to the right of the rooster's tail. The design is part of the Perth Mint's Lunar Series II programme.
