Aanvullende informatie

Perth Mint's four-nines gold bullion program launched in 1986, and by 2004 the series had accumulated enough international dealer support to compete directly with the South African Krugerrand and Canadian Maple Leaf on purity grounds — the Krugerrand's 22-karat alloy being a particular sticking point for certain Asian markets that prefer fineness over durability. Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Elizabeth II, introduced as the fourth portrait in 1998, appears here in its mid-series run before the fifth portrait transition under Jody Clark in 2015.

KM#489 was struck to bullion rather than proof standard, meaning quality control tolerances were wider and surface handling marks are expected.
