Aanvullende informatie

Issued to mark the Bahamas' independence negotiations with Britain, which concluded when the archipelago became a sovereign nation on July 10, 1973 — this 1972 piece preceded that date by roughly a year, struck in anticipation of the transition rather than after it. The Royal Mint produced the issue, as Bahamian domestic minting capacity did not yet exist.

The .917 fineness places it squarely in the crown gold tradition carried over from British coinage practice.
