Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, depicted with a girlish draped bust and wearing a small ornate crown set into her upswept hair, rendered in a finely detailed relief after the portrait by Arnold Machin. The circular legend reads 'COMMONWEALTH OF THE BAHAMA ISLANDS' along the upper periphery and 'ELIZABETH II' along the lower periphery, all within a beaded border.

Reverse description Central shield of the Bahamas coat of arms featuring a British Royal Crown above and a sailing vessel at sea in the lower division, flanked by elaborate acanthus-style mantling on either side. The denomination 'HUNDRED DOLLARS' arcs along the upper left field and the date '1972' is placed vertically at the right, all within a beaded border.
