Reverse description The reverse commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the National War Memorial in Ottawa, designed by Canadian sculptor Mary-Ann Liu, who also created the bronze sculptural elements of the original Tomb. The central design presents a close-up composition featuring a Crusader's sword and a First World War-era steel helmet, overlapping with stylized maple leaves in the field. The inner rim is symbolically shaped in the form of a poppy, the universally recognized flower of Remembrance, while the outer rim remains conventionally rounded. The legends CANADA and 2025, rendered in the same typeface used on the Tomb itself, appear in the field, accompanied by the designer's initials ML.
