Reverse description A highly detailed, polychrome high-relief topographic map of the northwestern portion of Kauai, Hawaii, occupies the left and lower portions of the field, rendered with vivid applied coloring in deep greens, golds, and blacks to simulate dense tropical highland terrain, with a band of vibrant turquoise along the coastline. The right portion of the field presents a flat, mirror-polished silver cartographic panel engraved with place names, trails, and boundary lines including Koke'e State Park, Waimea, Alaka'i Swamp Trail, Pu'u O Kila Lookout, Kilohana Lookout, and Hono O Na Pali Natural Area Reserve. At the upper center, a compass rose is engraved above the principal legend 'TOPOGRAPHY of Hawaii Island Kauai 2025'. Additional legends in the field identify the Alaka'i Wilderness Preserve, Na Pali-Kona Forest Reserve, and Mohihi-Waialae Trail.
