| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse displays the Public Seal of Niue in the centre, comprising a circular medallion bearing a stylised floral motif encircled by a wreath, surmounted by a royal crown, and flanked by two crossed canoe paddles below. The legend ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS arcs along the left periphery of the field, while the date 2023 appears in the lower exergue. The motto ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI is inscribed on a ribbon below the seal, rendered in finely struck relief against a mirror-polished proof field. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Nicolaus Copernicus was a Polish-born canon of the Catholic Church who oversaw his heliocentric manuscript for decades before finally permitting its publication in 1543 — the same year he died. Whether he ever held a printed copy of De revolutionibus orbium coelestium is disputed; some accounts suggest a copy reached him only on his deathbed.
Niue's bullion program has long licensed recognizable historical and cultural figures for one-ounce gold issues sold primarily to the collector market rather than circulated as currency. The $100 face value bears no relationship to any transactional reality on the island.
