| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse bears a full-color reproduction of Sandro Botticelli's masterpiece 'The Birth of Venus' (c. 1484–1486), rendered across the entire rectangular surface of the one-kilogram silver flan. The goddess Venus is depicted standing nude at center upon a giant scallop shell emerging from the sea, with flowing auburn hair modestly covering part of her figure. To her left, the wind gods Zephyrus and Aura blow streams of air, scattering rose blossoms, while to her right the Hora of Spring extends a floral mantle to receive the goddess. The vivid polychrome color application faithfully reproduces the Renaissance palette of the original Uffizi Gallery composition, with fine detail preserved across the landscape, figures, and drapery. |
