Beschrijving voorzijde The unadorned effigy of King Charles III is depicted in left-facing profile, rendered in high relief against a polished field. The king is shown with naturalistically detailed hair and wearing a collared shirt, consistent with the first definitive portrait for Australian coinage by sculptor Dominic Thomas. The legend 'CHARLES III AUSTRALIA' arcs around the upper periphery, while the specifications '1oz 9999 Au 100 DOLLARS' are inscribed along the lower arc, flanked by two raised dots. The engraver's initials 'DT' appear discreetly at the truncation of the portrait.

Beschrijving keerzijde The central device features a map of Australia with a marked point at Ophir, New South Wales, commemorating the site of Australia's first official gold rush of 1851, accompanied by the anniversary numeral '175'. Behind the map, a crossed shovel and pickaxe form a saltire, symbolic of the goldfields era. Surrounding the central motif are finely detailed vignettes of the alluvial mining life: a miner's lantern, a pitched tent, a wheelbarrow laden with alluvium, a hand panning for gold, a bucket, and a cradle rocker, all set upon rugged terrain. The legend 'AUSTRALIA'S FIRST GOLD RUSH' arcs along the upper border, with the Perth Mint 'P' mintmark, the designer's initials 'AH', and the date '2026' placed in the lower field.
