Obverse description A spread eagle displayed facing left occupies the central field, wings outstretched and talons grasping an olive branch, with a heraldic shield bearing a star at its center positioned before the eagle's breast. The design is adapted from the United States Mint 'Amazonian' pattern series of 1872. The circular legend 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 'HUNDRED DOLLARS' appears along the lower periphery, all within a beaded border.
