| Opmerkingen |
The P#35 series was issued during a period when Liberia's money supply was under serious strain — dollar shortages had become chronic enough by the mid-2010s that the Central Bank was repeatedly forced to print new tranches of domestic currency to cover basic government payments. The Liberian dollar, pegged informally to the US dollar for decades, had been losing ground in street exchange rates well before this note entered circulation.
Security is modest for a high-denomination domestic note: a basic watermark and a single security thread, without optically variable ink or more sophisticated features common to contemporaneous West African issues.
