The national coat of arms of São Tomé and Príncipe occupies the central field, depicting two African grey parrots displayed as supporters flanking a central shield charged with a palm tree, above which a five-pointed star is set within a wreath. Scrolls surrounding the shield bear the inscriptions REPÚBLICA, DEMOCRÁTICA DE S.TOMÉ, PRÍNCIPE, DISCIPLINA, UNIDADE, and TRABALHO. The peripheral legend REPÚBLICA DEMOCRÁTICA DE S. TOMÉ E PRÍNCIPE arcs along the upper rim, while the denomination 100 DOBRAS is inscribed along the lower rim in large raised letters. The design is executed in high-relief proof style with a deeply mirrored field. |
