Pick 62 was issued under Hassan II at a moment when Morocco was managing the fiscal strain of the Western Sahara conflict alongside a tough IMF structural adjustment program — the late 1980s were not easy years for Bank Al-Maghrib's balance sheet. The note circulated heavily and absorbed the punishment that workhorse denominations always do.
Two signature combinations are documented for the series, both pairing Hassan Lukash as the first signatory with different counterparts. The Lukash/Es Sakat pairing is the scarcer of the two.
